  1. Do you provide child care?

    The Family Support & Resource Centers (FSRC) are not licensed child care facilities; however, the FSRC will care for children while their caregivers are attending certain FSRC classes, such as, Car Seat Safety, CPR, etc.

  2. Does the FSRC charge participants for services?

    No, the FSRC services are at no cost to the participant.

  3. Where do you get funding to support program services?

    The main funding source for the FSRC is the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. On occasion the FSRC may receive grants to provide additional or complementary services.

  4. Does the FSRC use volunteers?

    Yes! Volunteers are welcome; in 2010 volunteers logged in more than 5000 hours. Stop by the Center you wish to volunteer at to receive more information.

  5. How do I sign up for services?

    The FSRC calendar indicates if a service requires registration, just to be sure, call the FSRC you are interested in participating at before attending.

  6. Does the FSRC provide financial assistance? 

    The FSRC will refer families with financial needs to the nearest and most appropriate social service agency that will best meet their needs.

  7. How long are FSRC classes?

    Each FSRC class is unique. Some classes run in a series of six while others may just be a one time event. The FSRC calendar usually numbers classes that are part of a series.

  8. Are there eligibility requirements before receiving services?

    The FSRC has no eligibility requirements but it is important that we track who receives services. Participants are asked to become FSRC members and basic information is gathered so that participants can be issued a membership card for signing in at each visit.

  9. Who does the FSRC serve?

    The FSRC welcomes everyone in Hillsborough County.
    The FSRC serves residents countywide with five community based Centers and has mobile services available to remote areas of Hillsborough County.

  10. Can the FSRC be used for community meetings or other organized groups?

    The FSRC space is limited but available to the local neighborhood or non-profit community at no cost. If you are interested, please contact the center manager of the desired location.
