The friendly staff members work individually with each family, to get to know them, and to discover ways that the Center can best help meet their individual needs. There is a wide variety of programs, services and classes.  The programs and services provided at the Center are the result of a strong community partnership between local agencies to provide the best possible resources available to families in the Central Tampa area.

The fun and colorful children’s play area is a unique feature of the Central Tampa Center. This is a special place where children are engaged in age-appropriate activities so that parents are “freed up” to participate in a variety of different classes, programs and activities. 

A variety of different classes are available promoting self-sufficiency to improve computer skills and enhance job-related activities. The computer station is a busy area of the Center where adults are welcome to use computers to contact out-of-town friends and family, conduct research or correspond for job opportunities. Our mission is to provide easy access to learning opportunities for the community by supplying a gateway to on-line information sources, library collections, the World Wide Web via the Internet, and popular office software applications.

Our center has literature and information about local resources and a variety of topics for personal development and pleasure reading that families can pick-up. A spacious multi-purpose room enables individuals to attend classes, and work with community groups to learn new skills. Opportunities to work with a staff member on Resume Writing, Finance Classes, Arts & Crafts, and special events like Hurricane Preparedness.  

The Central Tampa has a partnership with the Tampa Hillsborough Library System. This is a special library collection that the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County has developed that is related to children and families. We have a variety of materials including books, video tapes, and DVDs. Our library can be found in the Tampa-Hillsborough system.

All families and individuals are welcome to the Center and all programs and services are at no cost to participants.
