In April of 2016, Allison Ball and her daughter, Lilly, who was an infant at the time, were attending a class at the local library when other moms told her about the Children's Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon. Although she had never heard about the Center before, she decided to try the classes. They started with Baby & Me when Lilly was six months old. They continued with Growing Together, Wonder Years, Little Amigos, Music & More, Creative Learning, and Pop-Up Play.
The Archila family joined the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon in July 2019. A friend had recommended the Center as a place to bring their daughter Eva. They attended the Developmental Playgroup registration and participated in both Wonder Years and Little Amigos classes (provided by Baby Bungalow). The entire family enjoyed the classes.
About four years ago, Nayrobi Palmer heard about the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers from another parent at the local park. She had recently relocated to the Brandon area and was looking for resources for her family. At that time, she had Riley, who was four, and Logan, who was one ─ little brother, Avery, joined our Center in 2017. Excited to find us, she registered in May of 2015 and has never left.
In October 2018, a mother walked into the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon. She had just attended a FDLRS screening for son and they referred her to the Center. She, her husband, and four children had recently moved and she did not know where to go for the various services that her family needed. Staff immediately connected her to our Service Coordinator, Beth Keeney.
