The Archila family joined the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon in July 2019. A friend had recommended the Center as a place to bring their daughter Eva. They attended the Developmental Playgroup registration and participated in both Wonder Years and Little Amigos classes (provided by Baby Bungalow). The entire family enjoyed the classes.
About four years ago, Nayrobi Palmer heard about the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers from another parent at the local park. She had recently relocated to the Brandon area and was looking for resources for her family. At that time, she had Riley, who was four, and Logan, who was one ─ little brother, Avery, joined our Center in 2017. Excited to find us, she registered in May of 2015 and has never left.
In October 2018, a mother walked into the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon. She had just attended a FDLRS screening for son and they referred her to the Center. She, her husband, and four children had recently moved and she did not know where to go for the various services that her family needed. Staff immediately connected her to our Service Coordinator, Beth Keeney.
At the beginning of the school year, Mrs. Santiago received a text from her son’s middle school about the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers and the Mobile Medical Clinic (MMC) provided by St. Joseph’s Children’s Wellness & Safety Center. She was relieved to find a place that could assist her family since they did not have health insurance. She called the CBFRC in East County and greatly appreciated that the staff thoroughly explained the process for making an appointment and “eliminated the running around” for her.
